Twenty-two year old Nollaig has secured an internship at the UN in Geneva with the help of her well-connected uncle Nigel, staying with the elegantly-pressed and affluent Helen and David Wilcox and their two young children. The Wilcox world is a masquerade of opulent wealth and privilege, and Nollaig quickly tips the dynamic in the house, with Helen becoming particularly drawn to her new guest. Nollaig's own fascination takes a turn as she begins to steal diamonds from the family – using techniques learnt from Nigel – swallowing the jewels whole. Mineral and flesh, absorbing the very nutrient of their wealth, Nollaig's actions begin to strip the Wilcox family back to their true selves.
