"Ossessione" transcends the themes of murder, obsession and betrayal to introduce a fascinating look at Italy during World War II. Gino, a charming drifter, arrives at a rural inn looking for work. The owner, a coarse and vulgar man, gives him something to do, but it's the proprietor's young wife Giovanna who makes him want to stay. Drawn to each other, they become lovers and soon plan to eliminate the husband. After achieving their goal in a faked accident, Giovanna and Gino officially become a couple, but are bound by a secret that weighs heavily upon them. The police, however, are pursuing their investigations. Gino and Giovanna flee, but it is too late...
