And the winner is... Beta Cinema titles have won 15 awards at this year´s German Academy Awards (LOLAS), including Best Picture in gold and silver, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Actor. The big winners of the night were Nora Fingscheit's SYSTEM CRASHER (eight awards) and Burhan Qurbani's BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ (five awards).
As youngest talent ever, twelve-year-old Helena Zengel was honoured as Best Actress for her role as wild but lovable Benni in SYSTEM CRASHER. Her counterpart Albrecht Schuch won Best Actor and, at the same time, was honoured as Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role in BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ. WHEN HITLER STOLE PINKT RABBIT by Academy Award winner Caroline Link won as Best Family Film, whereas German pre-Corona box-office hit THE KANGAROO CHRONICLES by Dany Levy was awarded as Best VFX and Animation.
